Everyone can remember what the sweet shops of their childhood were like. All those wonderful shelves full of jars, just like our Jars of Sweets Cross Stitch Pattern!
Our young designer has created candy canes, liquorice allsorts, pink and blue lollipops, toffees and brightly colored foil wrapped chocolates in purple and blue glass jars standing on a blue shelf.
We’ve used 16 count white Aida for this Jars of Sweets Cross Stitch Pattern which measures 70 x 100 stitches but if you prefer, you could use 14 count Aida which will make the finished design a little larger. If you have some 18 count Aida you could also use that and then the design will be smaller.
The Jars of Sweets Cross Stitch Pattern won’t take you too long to make either because there are large unstitched areas which are white. We’ll provide two charts for you to download from the internet. One will be the black and white symbol chart and the other a color symbol chart so that you can see which color goes where.
When you’ve made this design do please take a picture and email it to us because we love to see the finished article. To add a bit of extra sparkle you could stitch sequins or beads to the sweets or use holographic thread to outline them instead of the single thread of black DMC which we usually suggest.

We’ve made the shelf on which the sweet jars are placed, a lovely soft blue, but if you have colors in your thread stash that you prefer to use then you could change that to brown to give a wooden effect.
If you like our Jars of Sweets Cross Stitch Pattern you’ll love some of our other designs, like the Home Sweet Home sampler which has been created by the same designer.
