Our animal and nature patterns are among the most popular on our website and we hope you love the Green Birdwing Butterfly Cross Stitch Pattern and enjoy stitching it.
When our young designer was looking for another butterfly to stitch, she homed in on the gorgeous brilliant green colors to create the Green Birdwing Butterfly Cross Stitch Pattern.
There are eight DMC colors in this design which we recommend you make on 16 count white Aida. It measures 70 x 50 stitches so it would be ideal for a birthday card. Alternatively, you could make several of our other butterflies and put them into small frames to be displayed together on a wall.
We really enjoy creating these animal, bird and insect designs because the feedback is always so positive. Our designs have ended up in cards, pictures on walls and under glass on a tray! It’s always good to see how imaginative you are when you’ve finished stitching them so please do send us a picture.
You can make the Green Birdwing Butterfly Cross Stitch Pattern larger or smaller
If you prefer to make the design larger then that’s easy to do too. Just use 14 count material but do double check that you can get the number of stitches on it that you need. Nothing worse than finding that you don’t leave enough of a border around your work of art for a frame.
For a slightly smaller finished design, switch to 18 count thread. If you’re making the Green Birdwing Butterfly Cross Stitch Pattern for a friend with a particular color scheme, then you could use colored Aida. We know that this pattern also looks good with a pale blue background, like the sky.
