This church cross stitch pattern is an updated version of our popular Christmas Church, for use all year round.

Our Church Cross Stitch pattern is the spring and summer version of our Christmas Church cross stitch. If you are a fan of all things British, then here’s a lovely country church for you to stitch.

Available to download instantly in PDF format, our Church Cross Stitch pattern is high quality featuring color and black and white symbol blocks as well as thread recommendations. They are created by our young in-house designer.

If you join our Cross Stitch Subscription service this 16 count Aida pattern and every pattern on our site is yours to download at no extra charge.

Our patterns are easy to follow and look fantastic as cards or in a frame for a lasting memento. You could stitch this one and include the names of a bride and groom underneath it, as well as the date of their marriage. Alternatively, our Church Cross Stitch would be a great reminder of a family christening.

Our traditional village church has brightly colored glass in the windows which tell bible stories and there’s a warm welcome inside.

The church is very often the focus of village life in the UK and Ireland, not only used for christenings, marriages and funerals, but providing space in church halls for Sunday School, regular lunches for parishioners and youth clubs.

Our Church cross stitch is just one of our traditional patterns

Not everyone has always loved English churches though. In 1536 King Henry VIII decided the Roman Catholic church had too much power and this led to the dissolution of the monasteries. In an act of pure vandalism he demolished some lovely old churches in a land grab on their income and made himself head of the Church of England, which abandoned centuries old religious traditions and became more austere.

We hope you love stitching our Church Cross Stitch.
