If you know of someone getting married soon and you want to make them a truly personalised gift to remember their big day then this Blackwork Cross cross stitch pattern with heart motifs is a great idea.
You could also use this Blackwork Cross cross stitch pattern for a Christening card or to send as a Christmas greetings card. This is something for your friends and loved ones to keep with their treasured gifts.
As usual, we’ve used 16 count white Aida, but you could use 14 count which would make the design a little larger, or 18 count, which would make it smaller. There are just two colors in this design, a lovely golden yellow and black and it’s very easy to make, our pattern will show you how.
However, if you wanted to make our Blackwork Cross cross stitch pattern truly memorable and something the recipient would keep as a memento of their special day, then you could make it in Gutermann’s holographic thread in gold. That would also look fabulous as a Golden Wedding card or you could use silver holographic thread to make it for a silver wedding celebration or for a Christening.
We like the black detail and outlining on this design but if you preferred you could make it all in one color, perhaps in green for a St Patrick’s Day card. Alternatively you could use two shades of the same color so that the pattern stands out. It measures just 70 x 90 stitches so it’s ideal for an aperture card or a small frame.
